If I never had to get back in the car, that would be fine with me. I usually like road trips, but I just wasn't feeling the drive this time. It seemed to take forever to get there, and we actually ended up stopping at a hotel with only 2.5 hours to go, because I just couldn't be in the car any more. My feet and legs still hurt from my shoes, but other than that, I am home from a fabulous weekend in Red Wing. We stayed at the St James Hotel, where the reception was, and I said about 20 times throughout the night that I was SO glad we decided to stay there. We decided at the last minute to go to Duluth on Friday. Cuz it was Leah's last day of spring break, and cuz it was my birthday weekend, and cuz we wanted to go geocaching. The weather was perfect - I thought it would be colder near the lake, but it was gorgeous.

I have finally uploaded pics from our trip to Marquette last weekend. The trip did not exactly go as planned, for two reasons. First, the snow on Saturday - we were crazy enough to leave anyway, but it turned a 7 1/2 hour drive into an 11 hour drive. It was not particularly icy or slippery, it was just a lot of snow, making it very hard to see. ( Read more... )

To celebrate the end of summer classes (and also being together for two years), we went to Chicago this weekend. It was fun, despite a lot of rain. ( rambling & pictures )

Well, I guess it is good to know that I'm not allergic to bees, but I really didn't need to get stung by a swarm of them to prove it.
